About Albany
Albany - Experience the Difference
Albany is an exquisite coastal city of 35,000 people, located 409 km's South East of Perth in Western Australia. Many have tried to describe the unique beauty of this region, the diversity of scenery and the myriad of attractions.
The port city of Albany was Western Australia’s first European settlement and the state’s original capital. Today, it is rich in heritage and provides a great base from which to take day trips or short breaks in the South Coast region.
Princess Royal Harbours forms the centrepiece of the City. When the sailing is done there are wineries, gourmet restaurants, art communities and other tourist destinations that are flanked by rolling hills and backed by the rugged Porongurup National Park and Stirling Ranges. The world famous Bibbulmun Track offers bush walkers access to beautiful aspects of the South Coast. King George Sound, which is also home to the spectacular dive wreck, the HMAS Perth is a great attraction for divers. The wreck is easily accessed and can be viewed from above by snorkellers or from an underwater boat observatory.
